The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of IT contracts best practices and Federal government contracting functions in both pre-award and post-award phases using a variety of contracting types and methods to procure IT hardware, software, and services. As a senior consultant you will be responsible for mentoring and developing junior staff, delivering quality services to our clients and expanding work under existing contracts.
We are currently looking for an IT Contracts Specialist who will:
- Review contracts, analyze their data, and input results into the IT asset management tool
- Perform verification and audit of software content in the contracts; verify software assets against licenses and contracts; initiate corrective actions; and provide continuous license tracking
- Manage software inventory making sure that assignments, reclamations, and modifications of existing licenses are correctly recorded to maintain compliance with vendor contracts
- Create a vision to manage software acquisition, compliance, maintenance renewals and lifecycle planning & costing
- Make recommendations in areas of process improvements, process efficiencies and strategic / operational direction
- Apply a continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies employed in IT contracting to optimize IT asset spend
- Assess situations and make prudent and appropriate decisions, apply conflict resolution and problem solving skills, and interpret and draw valid conclusions from data
- Develop key relationships and influence across the IT asset contracting ecosystem
Additionally, the ideal candidate can:
- Communicate with all levels of management including customer executives (i.e, interpersonal skills, approachability, effective listening skills, appropriate use of style and language for the audience)
- Develop clear directions, instructional materials, and SOPs
- Tailor technical and planning information to a customer’s level of understanding
- Monitor advancements in software compliance and licensing to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance
- Provide input into IT asset metrics that pertain
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Ability to pass a federal background check successfully and maintain eligibility for continued access authorizations, including periodic drug screenings, granted by such a successful background check
- Bachelor’s degree
- Working knowledge of governmental contracting practices and procedures including FFP, T&M, ID/IQ contracts, and GSA schedule contracts
- Experience with software contract and license management
- Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and able to operate in a proactive way
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; logical thinker and intellectual curiosity
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using ServiceNow and/or BMC Remedy
- IAITAM software asset management certifications
- ITIL v4 or 2011 Foundations certification
- Flexible in changes to work scope to meet organization goals
