Cordia is partnered with a visionary corporation who is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team on a contract basis with potential for contract to hire. This position is based in their Washington, DC office, located in the bustling Rosslyn neighborhood.

Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Hybrid - Washington, DC (Rosslyn)
Hourly Rate: $30.00/hour
Job Type: Contract with Potential for Contract to Hire

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain financial records and reports, including general ledger, trial balance, and monthly financial statements.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payment and receipt of funds.
• Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Conduct analysis and research on financial data and provide insights and recommendations to management.
• Support the preparation of tax returns and other regulatory filings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with government contracting a plus.
