We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team and support the payroll processing for our organization. This role is very hybrid but will need to be able to commute to Bethesda, MD as needed. This role will involve working with Paylocity to ensure accurate and timely payroll for our 900 employees. The ideal candidate will have experience with Paylocity and a strong understanding of payroll processes and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Process payroll for 900 employees using Paylocity software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
Maintain employee payroll records, including salary changes, deductions, and withholding information
Calculate and process employee benefits, such as vacation time, sick leave, and retirement contributions
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax-related matters
Collaborate with the HR team to ensure accurate employee data, such as new hires, terminations, and changes, are properly reflected in the payroll system
Prepare payroll reports for management and finance departments
Stay updated on payroll regulations and changes to ensure compliance and accuracy
Assist in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and tax filings
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, with a strong focus on payroll processing
Proficiency in using Paylocity or similar payroll processing software
Solid understanding of payroll principles, processes, and regulations
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software
Professional certification in payroll administration (e.g., CPP) is a plus
