Our client is a leading provider of innovative solutions in the Government Contracting (GovCon) sector. They are dedicated to delivering high-quality services to our federal agency clients, particularly in Enterprise Data and Analytics. Join their dynamic and growing team as a Business Analyst and play a pivotal role in supporting our federal agency client in Alexandria, VA.
As a Business Analyst, you will be an integral part of our Enterprise Data and Analytics services program, working closely with a large federal agency. Your primary responsibility will be to gather and analyze requirements, facilitate communication between stakeholders, and ensure the successful delivery of data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews, group workshops, business process reviews, and surveys to identify functional and end-user requirements.
- Analyze data from multiple sources and collaborate with Architects to provide input to Data Models and ETL processes.
- Gather and document reporting requirements from business owners and end users, collaborating with report developers to create wireframes and mockups.
- Perform peer reviews of requirements, design, testing, and other project documents.
- Manage the development and maintenance of project documentation.
- Evolve user stories and backlog items, including breaking down stories and facilitating story refinement and estimation sessions.
- Provide support for functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in business analysis and requirements gathering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Proficiency in using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
- Familiarity with leading Business Intelligence tools such as OBIEE, Tableau, IBM Cognos, or Business Objects (experience in this area is a plus).
- Strong ability to actively communicate, interact, and solve critical customer problems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Strategic thinking and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working on projects within a Federal Agency is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with a team that develops in AWS is a plus.
- Scrum Master certification is a valuable asset.
