Location- Silver Spring, MD (near downtown)

Target Temporary Pay Rate: $30-$36 per hour ($75,000 max on a FT basis)

Software: Strong QuickBooks Online is 100% required

Job Summary
The Staff Accountant supports the Finance department with their day-to-day functions by performing entry-level accounting duties. The primary work focus for the Staff Accountant is on accounts receivable and accounts payable. In addition, they help with collections, billing, audits, and journal entries.
Essential functions-primary responsibilities
- Log and verify expense transactions in QuickBooks
- Process cash receipts in QuickBooks including ACHs and donations from donor database
- Enter journal entries to properly and accurately record expenses, revenue, checks and deposits
- Open, count, log, scan, and deposit daily cash receipts
- Process daily payments including test day payments
- Process vendor payments and track expense
- Reconcile expenses and accounts including credit card transactions
- Filing/archiving of financial records and related financial information
- Manage PO Box – pick up mail, sort, process
- Coordinate with senior financial team members/ outsourced support
- Coordinate with financial institutions to verify data and information
- Coordinate various office administrative tasks
- Other duties as assigned to help with the management of the finance office
