The Shared Services Payroll Director is responsible for the oversight and management of the company’s payroll department. In this role, the Payroll Director will manage the staff, foster a high performing team environment, and have responsibility for the processing of the company’s labor, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records and processing payroll.

Essential Responsibilities:
In coordination with the Vice President of Shared Services, the Payroll Director establishes strategy and direction for the payroll department in alignment with strategic plans established by executive leadership.
Identifies, recommends, and implements innovative business and technology solutions for Payroll functions both domestically and abroad.
Drives diagnostic research and resolution efforts to solve complex payroll issues accurately and timely.
Articulates the Payroll strategy and value proposition to Senior Leaders.
Partners with cross-functional teams within Payroll, Human Resources, Information Technology and Finance to achieve governance accountability, root cause analysis.
Provides leadership, at the enterprise level, for CONUS and OCONUS business-critical functions including Time and Labor, Payroll processing, Payroll Tax, Payroll training, and governance of third-party Payroll providers of OCONUS support of payroll services.
Manages team and directly supervises employees including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Estimates, forecasts, and anticipates trends to develop budget for the organization.
Monitors monthly budget vs. actual reports to ensure non-business justified over-runs are held to a minimum.
Serves as a subject matter expert for all things related to Payroll and advises and guides the company in ways to improve the existing payroll processes, architecture, and systems.
Helps the team research issues to resolution.
Conducts finance-related training, performance metrics analysis, and develops and implements process improvement initiatives.
Ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
Represents and interfaces for the Payroll functions with regulatory agencies and internal auditors.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of payroll and financial systems. Ideal candidates have a good understanding of ADP Payroll, Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time and Expense, and Workday HRIS.
A working knowledge of system interfaces and data integration.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products especially Excel.
Excellent communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and General Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP).
Knowledge of payroll tax laws.
Knowledge of union and Service Contract Act (SCA) requirements.
Knowledge of leave benefit accruals.
Excellent analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field required.
Fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in Payroll organization for a Global company.
Five (5) years of experience in a managerial position required.
Experience implementing a payroll system desirable.
Payroll and/or Accounting certifications a plus.
Candidates located near Fort Worth, Texas are highly desired. We have periodic on-site collaboration meetings at that location.
