Cordia Resources is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grant Accountant to join a non-profit organization. As a Grant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of our grant programs. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with grant guidelines, maintaining accurate financial records, and preparing reports for both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage grant accounting activities: Track and monitor the financial transactions related to grant funding, including budgeting, invoicing, and expense tracking.
  • Grant compliance: Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, regulations, and reporting requirements. Maintain a thorough understanding of grant terms and conditions.
  • Financial reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal management and external funders. This includes preparing grant-specific financial statements, budget variance analysis, and expenditure reports.
  • Budget management: Collaborate with program managers to develop grant budgets, monitor spending, and provide guidance on budget revisions. Ensure that funds are utilized efficiently and in accordance with grant guidelines.
  • Internal controls: Implement and maintain financial controls to safeguard grant funds, ensure accuracy of financial data, and prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Audit support: Assist in the preparation and coordination of grant-related audits. Provide necessary documentation and support to auditors.
  • Grant proposal support: Collaborate with program staff in the development of grant proposals, providing financial information, budget projections, and analysis as needed.
  • Grant closeout: Facilitate the grant closeout process, ensuring all required financial reports and documentation are submitted in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in grant accounting, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Strong knowledge of grant compliance regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheet applications. Experience with grant management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with non-profit financial reporting standards (e.g., FASB, GAAP) is desirable.
