Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a $40M wireless communications firm who is seeking a qualified, motivated A/R A/P Accounting Assistant to provide temporary part-time (20 hrs/wk) support to our clients Finance and Accounting team.  You will provide part-time support 4-5 days/week to maintain and administer accounts receivable and accounts payable records and files.

Title: AR / AP Accounting Assistant
Location: Hybrid - Arlington, VA
Hourly Rate: $25.00/hour
Job Type: Part Time / Contract (3 Months)
 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain customer accounts, ensuring accurate records of customer payments, and resolving any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to assist with any payment-related inquiries or issues, including managing A/R inbox.
  • Perform collection activities including process credit card payments to minimize delinquent accounts and optimize cash flow.
  • Issue customer account statements as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including sales, customer operations, and accounting, to manage customer accounts and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Provide regular reports and updates regarding accounts receivable performance.
  • Responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payables.
  • Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly statements.
  • Assist in the weekly A/P run as needed.
  • Generate related ad hoc reports as requested. 

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Associates degree preferred
  • 2+ years of related experience
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external customers
  • Working knowledge of accounting practices
  • Experience working with ERP or accounting software systems (NetSuite experience a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background and credit check
  • Must be able to onboard first 2-3 weeks in our Crystal City, VA office, 3 days a week, Tue/Wed/Thu; flexible work location after successful onboarding
