Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: Columbia, MD (On-site, 5 days per week)

Salary: Up to $63,000 annually

Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage invoicing, collections, and reconciliation processes. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely payment from our customers, primarily within the government and defense sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Management: Prepare and issue invoices to customers in compliance with contract terms, ensuring accuracy and adherence to government regulations.

  • Collections: Monitor outstanding accounts receivable and actively follow up on overdue payments to ensure prompt resolution. Work closely with the DoD and other governmental clients to address any payment issues.

  • Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of accounts receivable balances, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in Costpoint.

  • Reporting: Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports to track the status of invoices and payments. Provide insights to management on trends or issues.

  • Compliance: Ensure all AR activities are conducted in compliance with government regulations, including FAR/DFARS, and internal company policies.

  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, particularly within the DoD, to facilitate smooth invoicing and payment processes.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of accounts receivable experience, preferably within a government contracting environment.

  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Costpoint is required. Familiarity with other accounting software and tools is a plus.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of government contracting, particularly within the DoD sector. Knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations is highly desirable.

  • Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred but not required with relevant experience.
