Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a $230M government contracts division of a large, multi-billion-dollar parent company specializing in environmental engineering services. This division’s revenue is highly project-centric, with revenue recognition computed using a percentage of completion basis. The company has a September 30 fiscal year-end. The company uses Oracle as their accounting system and Hyperion for their corporate reporting. They are seeking a hands-on Interim Accounting Manager to join their team on a 2–3-month contract with the potential for contract-to-hire. This is an individual performer position reporting to the division controller, so this is a “hands-on” role with no direct reports. You will play a critical role in managing and executing various accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. Title: Interim Accounting Manager Location: Remote (with required travel to Chicago, IL the first 2 weeks for training) Hourly Rate: $55.00 - $65.00/hour Job Type: Contract (2-3 months) Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the general ledger.
Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, revenue, and expenses.
Review monthly accruals.
Accounts payable and expense reports including for allowable/unallowable expenses.
Prepare and post journal entries.
State tax reporting.
Compile and report the monthly close package to the parent company, adhering to a tight close calendar.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience in government contracting is required.
Solid understanding of general accounting.
Strong proficiency in large ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP, and familiarity with Hyperion, is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Other Requirements:
The position is remote, but you must be available to travel to Chicago for the first 2 weeks for training purposes.
Expect overtime the last weekend of September as part of their fiscal yearend close activities.
