Cordia Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant that will be supporting a government contracting client. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end reconciliations, with a strong working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint.
Responsibilities:
Process and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform month-end close activities.
Maintain accurate and complete financial records in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Assist in preparing periodic financial reports and supporting documentation.
Ensure proper coding and timely processing of invoices and expense reports.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and answer accounting-related queries.
Support audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in a government contracting environment.
Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint is required.
Strong understanding of GAAP principles and accounting best practices.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools
