Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a dynamic and innovative government contractor who is seeking an Interim Controller/Accounting Manager to join their team on a 3–6-month contract basis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in government contracting and hands-on expertise with Unanet or Deltek government contracting software. This role is critical in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations and standards.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.
Coordinate audits and prepare audit schedules.
Provide financial analysis and support to senior management.
Collaborate with project controller to ensure accurate project costing and reporting.
Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience in accounting or financial management, specifically within the government contracting industry.
Proven experience with Unanet or Deltek, government contracting software is required.
Strong knowledge of federal regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
