The Director of Technology will oversee and manage the technology strategy, infrastructure, applications, and technical related policies for the association. The director will manage the day-to-day functions of the department and provide leadership, guidance, and direction to staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and participate in various PMOs related to technology, data, web, and other departmental functions. Analyze, document, and track requirements for IT related projects.
Manage and coordinate network infrastructure, security, and business continuity projects and issues with MSP and ensure optimal system performance and backups.
Provide user resources, training, and support for various software, hardware, and office equipment.
Manage phone system, office equipment, and conference room AV.
Manage multiple websites, including registrations, performance, hosting, and programming, and supervise the work of consultant developers
Be familiar with various database systems and client interaction technologies, such as AMS, accounting software, learning management systems, grassroots advocacy platforms, PAC management frameworks, digital publication dissemination, marketing email campaigns, and community engagement platforms.
Establish and maintain various policies and documentation related to network, application, business, and cybersecurity aspects of the environment.
Manage the inventory, tracking, and setup of equipment for the office and off-site events.
Oversee compliance, annual review, budget, and legal aspects of technology and information systems and serve as a staff liaison for the industry’s Information Security Work Group and other engagement groups.
Manage technology-related budget, invoices, and contracts.
Provide technical guidance and support engagement groups and online communities
Minimum Education and Experience:
A college degree is strongly preferred, ideally in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
Appropriate technical certification(s) are preferred.
5+ years supporting the IT function within organizations; Association experience a plus.
A combination of education, certification, and experience may be considered.
