Cordia Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant for our non-profit client. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial management and compliance to support our organization’s impact and growth.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, and preparing financial statements. This role requires a strong background in nonprofit accounting, including familiarity with grant accounting and restricted funds management.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies.
Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to internal stakeholders, including budget vs. actual reports.
Assist with grant management, including compliance tracking, expense allocations, and timely reporting.
Support the annual audit process by preparing required schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
Ensure proper classification and allocation of expenses in accordance with organizational policies.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed.
Implement and improve financial processes and controls to support accurate reporting and efficient operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a nonprofit setting.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, particularly as it applies to nonprofit organizations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and MS Excel.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
