- This person will report to a Controller who is very nice/great demeanor and sharp. He in turn reports into the VP/Controller at Parent Company on the platform level – sharp cookie-Big 4 / corporate mix-very nice guy.
- We need a true “full cycle” Accounting Manager who has a strong Month end close and FAR/CAS background with Deltek Costpoint experience. They are upgrading from QuickBooks to Costpoint, so anyone with implementation/upgraded experience with Costpoint is a big plus to have.
- There is also Director of Finance that handles more of the government Accounting/liaison activities, 3 other Senior/Staff on the team that do payroll, billing, accounts payable.
- The Accounting Manager will be integral to the continued growth and will be able to help craft the department-exciting times there.

Position Overview: As the Accounting Manager, you will play a vital role on the finance team, overseeing key accounting activities while ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance in the financial operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, including accruals, reconciliations, report preparation, and journal entry reviews.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) and conduct comprehensive financial analyses to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor actual performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Establish and maintain effective internal control systems to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies. Conduct periodic internal audits and monitor adherence to government accounting standards (FAR, CAS).
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimize liquidity. Develop forecasting models to enhance financial operations.
- Financial Planning and Strategy: Support the Finance Team in developing financial strategies and provide insights for business planning, investment decisions, and risk management.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of continuous learning and process improvement.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing financial expertise and serving as a key point of contact for financial inquiries and audits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) and certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a minimum of 3 years in the DoD industry, focusing on compliance and DCAA requirements.
- In-depth understanding of DCAA regulations and compliance, as well as government accounting standards (FAR, CAS).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Proficiency in financial management software/ERP systems (e.g., Costpoint, Unanet) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing finance teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
Other Qualifications:
- Current or prior security clearance with the Department of Defense is preferred.
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 preferred).
