Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant focuses on balance sheet reconciliation, sales tax research and compliance, month-end journaling, and inter-office accounting for Travel & Expense (T&E). T
Key Responsibilities:

Cost Accounting:
- Set up all projects, revenue, and billing in the Project Module.
- Maintain all MODs in Deltek CostPoint.
- File monthly Sales and Use Taxes, including necessary research and compliance.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

Month-End Close:
- Assist in month-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, working closely with the accounting team and directly with the Director of Finance.

Contractual Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and submit financial reports as required by government contracts, such as Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS) and other contract-specific financial disclosures.

Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including FAR/DFAR and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), as well as company policies.
- Stay updated on changes that may impact financial reporting.

Process Improvement and Risk Management:
- Continuously evaluate and enhance accounting processes and internal controls.
- Streamline operations, improve efficiency, ensure compliance, and mitigate financial risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate effectively with other departments, including project management, procurement, and operations.
- Ensure alignment of financial objectives and effective communication of financial performance.

Audit Support:
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and support to ensure successful outcomes.

Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint is required.
- Understanding of US GAAP and government contracting regulations (DFAR, FAR, CAS).
- Knowledge of federal financial reporting requirements and processes, including DCAA audits.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
