Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a prominent electricity manufacturing firm who is seeking an Interim Controller to join their team on a 2-3 month contract with the potential for contract-to-hire.
 
Title: Interim Controller
Location: Houston, TX
Hourly Rate: $75.00 - $85.00/hour
Job Type: Contract (2-3 months) / Possible Contract to Hire
 
Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close process with reporting to parent company
• Oversee monthly account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries
• Document, monitor and update accounting policies
• Ensure all payments and receipts are completed timely and properly recorded (including accounts payable and cash receipts)
• Analyze revenue and expenses including variance analysis
• Set and track financial KPIs
• Report on financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations

 
Requirements and skills

• 10+ years work experience as a Controller or similar role, in a fast-paced, high volume environment
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation
• Hands-on experience with general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Experience with cash management and risk assessment
• Good knowledge of accounting software
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work with tight deadlines
• BSc or MSc in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CMA preferred
