Title: Interim Controller

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations and lead a team of five.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Prepare and review financial statements for both internal and external reporting.
- Manage indirect rates and incurred cost submissions for government contracts.
- Maintain oversight of accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger integrity.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and federal cost accounting standards (FAR, DFARS).
- Collaborate with the CFO on forecasting, financial analysis, and board reporting.
- Provide financial support for M&A integration and ongoing organizational restructuring as needed.
- Contribute to process improvement and potential system upgrades (Costpoint optimization).
- Interface with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of accounting experience, including leadership of small accounting teams.
- Deep expertise in government contracting.
- Proficiency in Deltek Costpoint or other major ERP systems is required.
- Experience with self-funded medical benefit accounting is a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead during transitions, including post-merger or organizational restructuring.
