Director of Finance & Fund Administration

We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance & Fund Administration to oversee all aspects of outsourced fund administration and family office investment operations. This role will manage relationships with third-party administrators, auditors, and tax advisors, while also overseeing investment reporting systems and investment operations for the family office.
The ideal candidate combines deep fund accounting and reporting knowledge with strong investment operations expertise and the ability to manage complex outsourced relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Fund Administration Oversight

• Manage outsourced fund administration partners and review deliverables, including:
  • Capital activity (calls, distributions, allocations, waterfalls)
  • Investor portal maintenance and investor communications
  • Treasury functions (cash management, wires, reconciliations)
  • Fund accounting (general ledger, valuations, fee accruals)
  • Financial reporting (quarterly/annual financials, partner capital statements, management company reporting)
• Ensure service providers meet deadlines, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external auditors and advisors.

Family Office Investment Operations

• Oversee investment accounting and reporting for the family office across entities and asset classes.
• Manage and optimize reporting systems (Addepar, Arch) to ensure timely, accurate performance reporting and consolidated views of assets.
• Review capital calls, distributions, liquidity schedules, and investment cash flows.
• Prepare reports and analysis for internal leadership and external stakeholders.

Controls & Compliance

• Maintain accountability for accuracy and integrity of financial data across funds and family office portfolios.
• Implement processes and controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory and governance compliance.

Leadership & Client/Stakeholder Management

• Serve as senior point of contact for fund managers, GPs/LPs, auditors, and family office leadership.
• Supervise and mentor investment operations analyst(s) and future staff as functions expand
• Develop review frameworks and best practices for monitoring outsourced deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CFA preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive experience in fund administration, fund accounting, or family office investment operations.
• Strong knowledge of private equity/venture capital structures, partnership accounting, and fund operations.
• Experience managing third-party administrators, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Familiarity with investment reporting platforms such as Addepar and Arch.
• Exceptional organizational skills, detail orientation, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong client communication and relationship management skill
